AMY PIVAR is a lifelong contemporary dance artist, as
both a performer, choreographer and artistic director
of her company Amy Pivar Dances. She has
performed the work of numerous choreographers,
most notably as a founding member of The Bill T.
Jones Arnie Zane Dance Co. and was given a New
York Dance and Performance BESSIE Award (1986) in
recognition of this work.
Together with Freda Rosen, she founded her
dance/theater company, Amy Pivar Dances in 1990,
contributing a cutting edge voice to the dialogue of
contemporary cultural questions. In 2001 she
began "Songs for Solo Dance and Voice", an ongoing
collaborative performance project with mezzo soprano
Elaine Valby, composer Paula Kimper and
singer /composer Gilda Lyons. They have recently
performed at the Bronx venue, BAAD! and Dance New
Amsterdam in NYC.
Her practice of yoga led her to Yogafly where a
spontaneous collaboration emerged. This is their
premiere concert.

vocals while Mr. Tim Adams plays his astonishing
array of percussion instruments at Brevard Music
Center's Porter Auditorium in Brevard, North
Carolina.
Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, near Asheville,
Brevard Music Center is a
fantastically beautiful place
filled with classical music. Tim Adams
teaches
percussion at the center and performs timpani. Come
on out if you can, especially for music lovers. This
place reverberates with cosmic divine sound.
