![]() Kristina (Sumukhi) Lanuza loves yoga. Yoga has given her the ability to fly while staying grounded on the earth. Since 1997, Kristina has been studying and practicing Yoga and meditation with amazing teachers in the U.S. and the akasha. She acknowledges Shri Brahmananda Sarasvati (Ramamurti S. Mishra, M.D.) as her Guru. Kristina has completed multiple teacher trainings in Hatha Yoga. Kristina's teachings are inspired by the beautiful sound vibrations of Sanskrit - which she studies with Manorama (Thea D'Alvia) and teachers from Ananda Ashram in Monroe, New York. She honors Joan Suval from Ananda Ashram for making the philosophy of Yoga-Vedanta real and applicable to everyday life. She loves teacher Caroline Myss. Ph.D. and credits her with elucidating the similar truths behind the perennial philosophies of Yoga and classical Hinduism, Catholicism, Islam and Judaism. She has spent a lot of time with sages, saints, swamis and sinners. Sumukhi has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from St. Edward's University. She has over twelve years experience in marketing, public relations and advertising. She co-founded Mudita Yoga Center in Kingston, NY with Shawn Harrison. And then there's music. For the gift of music, she thanks her father and again her Guru for opening up the music of the spheres - "anahata nadam" in her heart and mind. Kristina's yoga teaching style is filled with creativity, music, humor and depth. She encourages students to open to their individuality and strength while remaining, always, in play. She currently teaches in Austin, Texas. Please contact Kristina for private instruction. |
